Custom Bench seat in the making

This week I’ve been working on a special order: two handcrafted bench seats made for a deck. I enjoy taking old materials and giving them a new life with a fresh purpose.

For this project, I filled a couple of small imperfections in the timber with pāua shell and resin, adding a subtle touch of character. I also welded custom steel legs, giving the benches strength and a clean, modern look. Now it’s time to bring everything together into sturdy, practical seats that will last for years.
